Ricardo Morales, Jr
Rick is the second of Ricardo Morales Navarrete’s four children. He was born in the heart of Little Havana, Miami in 1963 when his father was in the CIA’s newest baby, Operation 40. Morales Navarrete was assassinated when Rick was nineteen years old.
Rick shielded his children from their grandfather’s identity for much of their childhood. Social media collapsed that barrier nearly ten years ago when they saw posts with his photo and references to a book detailing some of his exploits. At that point, in an effort to make a proper posthumous introduction, Rick began a deep dive into Morales Navarrete’s past and has spent the better part of ten years piecing together fragments of his father’s storied life and legacy. He has appeared on radio and podcasts for NPR, Actualidad Radio 1040 AM, Spyscape, The Opperman Report, Original Gangsters, Rob Reiner and Soledad O’Brien’s Who Killed JFK?, and others to discuss “the Monkey’s” exploits and missions.
Ricardo is a father of two and lives in Michigan with his wife Cheri and cat Buddy, distanced only in miles from his beloved Miami Hurricanes.
